Just wanted to plug a kit i just got from Newport Engineering thru an ebay seller for my 59 chev since i know alot of people can have problems with the orig motors or want intermitten delay like myself so they dont burn out their motor turning it on and off every 20 seconds.

At first i was a bit dissapointed that the intermitten delay switch did not fit in the orig dash location (switch body is too big) but after i rigged it all up loosely to work i could not be happier with it. The motor itself fitted perfectly into the orig location using the orig holes and was a real simple swap. i've rigged modern ones to run before but it always ends up being a hassle some way or another but this was real simple and the wiring was nothing a blind man with one hand couldnt do.
the intermitten delay is actually adjustable so you can turn that up or down and it doesnt take up a speed on the wiper like some of those delay kits do, so you still keep 2 speeds and get adjustable delay. the body of the switch is alloy so i was able to paint it black and make a simple c bracket to mount under the dash and paint that black so it shouldnt look too out of place..
if anyone wants pics let me know and i will upload them. i know i'm sounding too excited about a wiper motor but finding stuff this high quality is quite rare and always great when it happens. i thought someone out there might find this info helpful anyway ;)

That's good to hear! I bought one and have it installed in my Pontiac but haven't hooked it up yet. Installation was one of the easier things I have done on the car. Hardest part was getting myself "bent" enough to get under the dash. Like you said, original holes and hooked up to the original arms easily.

My Buick has a Newport setup on it and I have been very happy with it for years. They are a little expensive but worth it in the long run. Glad you had a positive experience too!

My Newport wipers have been in my Buick 19 years and 116,000 miles haven`t missed a beat . A great product that fits and works!

I've installed New Port wiper kits in several cars over the years. All are true "bolt in" units and perform flawlessly. I'll never use anything else.

I've got one installed in my 62 Vette, got rid of those sloppy cables and got the intermittent feature. I was truly a bolt in and works super good, including the park feature which never worked on the stock system.

I also have one on my 52 Convertible but did not pop for the intermittent feature. I wonder if just ordering a intermittent switch is possible? If that is the only difference I should do that.

Quality produt from very helpfull folks, they shoud be an alliance vendor

We've been a dealer for the last 4 years or so and have used quite a few. They've all installed and worked perfectly! Really nice product and a GREAT family run company.

Does anyone know if they make a kit for the 46-48 Ford pass cars?
