Oof. Wow. Indian Larry, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Jerry Orbach, Rodney Dangerfield, Rod Roddy, now Johnny Carson. Godspeed to him.

Wow now that makes me feel old. Does anybody know why? Has he been ill? Definitely one of the best. [IMG]

I was always a little miffed that he just disappeared after retiring...

He was missed then and he will be missed again... [IMG]

St Pete will be at the gates just waiting to say "Heeeeeeerrre's Johnny!" Definately an American icon that will be sorely missed. [IMG]

  11. Wow...

    Bummer...

Am I the only one that can hear the theme song... like it was just on last night?
I remember how much of an honor it was, getting to stay up to watch Johnny Carson, when I was still little enough to sit on my dad's lap.

There's a special now on Larry King Live with Ed. McMahann about his life. We'll all miss him.

Had that rare ability to look like he belonged no matter who he was talking to. Nobody on tv comes close. He will be greatly missed.

Claudes Copper Clappers. I was laughing at that skit the other day. I'll miss Johnny. One of my favorite childhood memories. Sitting between my grandparents eating ice cream and laughing and the skits he did. I just got his box set not too long ago and I still laugh. Man what an Icon he was..

    Thanks Johnny. Rest in Peace.

  20. I am 35, the only reason I could stay up late as a kid was to watch Johnny's Monolog with my folks. There will never be a host as great as he was.

Johnny was one of the best ever. He could make ya laugh out loud without even saying a word, just with his cl***ic facial expressions. Gone but never forgotten.

When my dad got killed a couple of years ago I would cry every time the Carson box set ad would come on.I too had great Carson related memories with my old man. I wonder if Johnny and my dad are hangin out together now.

I used to stay up to watch him as a little kid.
I remember how weird it felt when Leno took over. I still think of it as Johnny's show.

I was sad to read that he had p***ed away.
    Goodbye Johnny Carson.
