I've searched, but haven't been able to find any resources for sealed cap gas tank filler necks. I want to be a bit safer and replace the stock vented filler neck in my 49 with a sealed neck--but unless I'm blind I just can't seem to find any parts places online that actually sell such an animal.

I'm essentially looking for something to connect to a 60 degree angled fuel hose that is metal and has a metal sealed cap.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

I had to make mine, drilled a hole in the filler pipe and welded in some brake line. then I ran fuel line to the outside of the car through a hole in the floor. remember to use a non-vented cap if the filler neck is inside the trunk.

  3. I did the same as happy hoppy. I am using a Mustang tank. I used the stock Mustang filler hose, and a steel tube and non-vented cap that I got from Tanksinc.
I drilled a hole and used a piece of brake line that vents through the trunk floor.
Here's a pic that will show you what I did. Todd

Can you tell me the part number of the tube and cap combo at tanksinc? I am actually ordering one of their replacement tanks.

Ever seen a brass fuel float disintegrate? I have :)

Just ordered a poly tank from Tanks Inc up in MN. Their stock 49 steel tank did not have a vent line, and I didn't want to mess with plumbing one. Really great folks who helped me figure out which of their parts would make all of this work.

Check out their site if you are looking for a new tank: www.tanksinc.com
