GUEST INFO UPDATE: Talked to M.K. John, and for the first time in years he won't be able to be at the Leadsled next weekend. M.K. is one of THE best R&C artists, as you well know, and has done the KKOA Leadsled Posters & Artwork for many, many years. He did about 4 different versions this year alone ! His presence will be missed, but he told me he hopes to be back with us next year for sure.
Many thanks for the kind words, Walt ! It's a pleasure to share these for the benefit of both current & future generations. Jonnie
I thought McPhail did the shirts? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1014456&d=1277717247
Thanks Jonnie for taking the time to talk with these folks and for sharing it with all of us. I think your interviews are interesting as well as very professionally presented. I really like that they are short snippets I can listen to between things. Hopefully we will cross paths in Kansas this weekend.
Man thats awsome! I was going to get to go this year but illness had had me down for almost a month. So no road trip for me. Oh well. I guess there is always next year...
ARTSWRK...There were a series of Merc-Deuce Reunions that went on from 1979 to 1999. Jerry put those together, but they were separate from the Leadsleds. There were officially 5 M-D Reunions, and we had a special one at Darryl Starbird's HOF Museum in 2007. Lots of great, well-done machines at ALL of those shows...and some true "drivers" ! Jonnie
I talked to M.K. John the other day and he told me also that he wasn't going to be able to be there. He's a first cl*** guy and a very talented Pin stripper and artist.
Cool website, Jonnie. Thanks for getting all this together...What a great resource. See you in Salina!
