Thanks, and yes I do know about the difference and yes, I did swap it around (4 banger, ears face forward, V8 ears face rearward)

Yeah I know, it's just a spring I had under my roadster for mockup.

Chris, As usual you are the man for these motor swaps. They come out super clean and super reliable. Wish I could be half as good at this for my rides. Going to try to do a frame off on my '41 Fordor. Will be doing a motor chg to a 272 Y-Block with three Deuces on aluminum intake w/T-Bird valve covers.
Will follow along as you get your '33 on the road.

I have a whole slew of Y block that I'm itching to put together for something someday. I have a 292 core, ECZ-G heads (large valave, small CC 312 heads), rams horns, Edelbrock intake with three 48's, Spalding distributor, finned hildebrant oil filter relocater, Hurst front mount for an early Ford and an adapter for a top loader 3 speed. I LOVE Y blocks :D

Sweet, I robbed the spring out from under the roadster so now it's a taildragger :D

  15. The last "loose" one I had, went to you, and I'm pretty if I have anymore they're still connected stock rear ends. Sorry I can't help out, but you're more the welcome to come over and look around? Maybe we need to have an Inland Emperors scavenger hunt at the Ranch to see if we can find one buried in the ground! :D

I know, like an idiot I gave that one to my brother for his pheaton/roadster project. Now he won't give it back :D

  17. Possession is 9/10th of the law, just swap his with one from the truck, he'll never know, unless reads this post, right? :D

Ok, some groundbreaking things happened over the weekend...well not really but I got some stuff done.

I got the rear end cleaned and painted. I also "borrowed" the spring out from under the 34 roadster. I already had the eyes reversed, and I also put some longer shackles on it. Then it happened. I blew my back out. I wasn't doing anything, just bending down cleaning something. When I stood up it popped and I was out of commision :( This was yesterday morning...my day off. I had to lay on the couch in pain and think about all the stuff I could have been doing.
My Buddy Devin came over and moved the rear under the truck for me. We hooked up the U-joint and jacked the rear up. I was pleased to see the spring slide into the crossmember, meaning that eveything lined up good (remember before the rear was shoved way back and it bent the spring...I had no idea if it did anything to the crossmember or spring hangers). Here it is mocked up, no it is not this low, the spring is just off to one side of the crossmember making it apear low on this side. But notice how the wheel is now in the center :D

Also got my water pumps back from being rebuilt and a call from the radiator dude saying the radiator is done. So, long winded I know, but with some help while my back heals maybe I can get this heap on the road.

  25. Let me get this straight? You blew out your back after your friend Devin was being a little to rough on your rear end. :D By the way, you only have 10 days to heal your *** up before Hot Rod-a-Rama.

A real spring shop can undoubtedly straighten that spring pack...

Chris, You better take care of yourself. Need to take it easy so you can heal up. Get that brother of yours to do the heavy work.

Yeah right. I'd come in that garage and the truck would have Mustang II, 10 bolt rear, 4.3 Chev with a blower and a 350TH trans. My Brother is a die hard street rodder!!!

I also realized that the rear end is too low. So I gotta get some help over to lend me a hand pulling the rear back and swapping the long shackles for orriginal length ones. My back feels better but I still gotta watch myself for a while.

    Taildragger baby!!
