You can find a lot of info on the sister site, The Garage journal. Go to the bottom of this page and click the link. Hope this helps, CBB
Mohawk the best in the industry and not really that much more considering your life depends on it. I bought a Bend Pack extra wide for my crew cab dually because I was told Mohawk didn't make one wide enough for the truck. It cost me $2900.00 6 yrs ago. At this years GG @ Rhinebeck a dealer for Mohawk was there and had a Mohawk lift for my truck it was around $5900. yes its 2 grand difference but you have to look at the construction I'm not happy with my bend pack. Pat
Pat,you are corect saying Mohawk is one of the best.American made, expensive but very well built.I am looking at a 4 poster but am limited by my garage door headers that limit my column height.Gotta roll it outside to raise all the way. Was looking at All American lifts but they just shut the doors due to our thriving economy. rs57-do go to the Garage Journal site.
dont remember the name, but there is a company in Oklahoma City that sells and installs lifts. They handle several brands of commercial lifts, and also repair and resell used lifts. I checked with them several years ago, and the prices on their rebuilt commercial lifts were very compe***ive with the home lifts that are advertised in most automotive magazines. My workshop at the time was only 10 feet floot to ceiling, not high enough for the two post Rotary brand lift I wanting to buy. Also they said they would not install a two post on any floor less than five inches thick, mine was only four.
ROTARY brand lifts are my choice. Been making automotive lifts since at least the '20s and are American made. I have both a 2 post and 4 post drive-on...excellent equipment. Ray
I have an Eagle Equipment 2 post lift. I have a friend who had three of them in his shop and never had any problems. I was pretty impressed with the quality for the money. Great for home shop use. http://www.eagleequip.com/page/EE/CTGY/LI-ETP
Rotary are probably the best, just a little expensive. I have a 12,000 lbs. Bend pak. Good quality and price. Not worth taking a chance on anything cheaper. It will last for a long time.
i have a rotary, i would suggest checking craigslist and ebay for used lifts, they usually go cheap, shops go out of business often and will save you alot. it really wasn't that hard to install mine that said a lift will truely change your life if you work on cars often, my only regret is i didn't buy one 20 years ago
another vote for Rotary, and check with the local installers and resellers, they usually have used ones from dealerships and such that they refurb and sell pretty cheap.
I have had my rotary 2 post 7000 # for close to 20 years. Replaced one seal and 1 hose ( my error } both in the last 6o days. One thing that makes lifts last is change the fluid. I just ordered a 4 post from rotary. as said before a little pricey buy very good.. Bobby..
Check out Derek Weaver in Dallas area. The have Direct lifts. I got a 4 post from them and love it. It is certified also unlike many of them out there.
Funny I just got an email from this company, Probably not as good as some mentioned but cant beat the price. $1,289 http://www.americanautomotiveequipment.com/2-Post-Lifts-p/tp9a-d.htm http://www.americanautomotiveequipment.com/2-Post-Lifts-p/tp09a-d.htm
ive had a few bend paks at various spots and have one in my shop now. never have had a problem. good customer service if you have questions also.
A few good things have come up on the internet. But they're no longer in the car lift business. I called them this a.m. because I saw a lift on CL yesterday. They look fine in all the pictures I've seen. PM sent
