    Well, some of you Im sure saw my earlier posts on this project. Still not sure what Im going to do with it. Right now my goal is just to make it all work again, and go from there. I know most of you wont like it, as I really dont plan on doing bodywork/paint on it. I kinda like the idea of leaving as I found it in a field. I got the truck for $25, and Ive got about $500 into it, including the rebel wiring harness and lights in the garage that still need to be installed, and the rebuilding of the carb and fuel pump, and new dizzy guts, spark plugs, and plugs and wires (from Tractor Supply of all places)

    This is what it looked like when I found it;

    You might have to balance the tires :D.

    Cool ride, but if it was me, I'd do a little bodywork to it.....

    I'll reply.Even though its not what im into so much,its pretty cool to see that old Dodge running after where its been for the last 30 years.I can appreciate what you did .I wonder how many old farm trucks like it have met there day with the crusher ,that could have simply been tuned up instead ???

    The outer lug nuts are loose on the rear... the front, I was trying to line it up better in the driveway.

    I plan on knocking out a few of the larger dents. Im thinking a full restoration might come one day. For now, I think Ill keep it as is. Atleast until the '57 is done. (the '57 is going to be my clean, smooth, shiney paint truck.)

    That is cool. I'd say you got a weiner!!. Your about a instant replay of how and when I got my old gal fired up after being stuck for years. Sounds good and not even any smoke. OMG, I noticed it still has the cowl lights!! Keep it stock. besides my 47 Dodge pickup, I also have a 48 Chevy 1 1/2 ton farm truck which I hope to make into a John Deere tractor hauler. Keep us posted.

    It sure is neat to hear old iron running like that, smooth and without a lot of smoke. Change the oil again.

    That's awesome! Hard to believe it would even turn over after being parked for so long, let alone run!

    Keep up the good work, not enough old Dodge trucks running around! :D

    Do you have any more pics of your truck?

    Biggest issues I have right now is figuring out the brakes. Where did you get your parts from? And trying to get tires for less than $1500. And gas tank, mine is rotted too bad to repair.

    Very cool old truck. If you plan on using the hoist, I'd go through the hydraulics ASAP to avoid any nasty surprises. If a seal or line blows while the hoist is up, gravity wins with negative consequences. :eek:

    I wasnt going to, but since it works, Im going to keep it. Theres no lines, the pump and cylinder are one peice, but it is going to get rebuilt. Thats also why in the vid, my buddy was taking that peice of channel iron out, and put it back in at the end... safety first, I had my head all up under there to pressure wash it all.

    Very cool. That's amazing that you got the hydraulics working too! Sounds pretty damn good!

    I got my '32 running and driving in January after about 50 years of sitting in a garage/barn. Its a real high isn't it?
