Marshalltown ain't very far from Cedar Rapids ,,back in the late '50's early '60's ,we used to cruze to C R to find street races ,,plus Newton,,Waterloo and Des Moines ,,it was a street racers heaven back then ,,
If you are really "old school" you need to go to the Old Threshers reunion in Mount Pleasant, IA http://www.oldthreshers.org/ The quan***y and quality of the things on display (most running) is top notch! They have a nice vintage car display with cool odd ball brands mixed in (mostly pre-war). Every hour they fire up a different group of equipment (cars, steam tractors, buldozers, stc..) and drive them past the grandstand. Carmak
