Customs Did I go too far?

Nevermind the nay sayers, cars should not be "cookie cutter" no matter the era or style, I think the car looks damn good, for a change you can change the tires when they wear out.

Whatever is "right" in a certain style gets boring when everyone is doing it. Real
eye catching STYLE requirs someone pushing the edges of what is "trendy". I think you did good.

Oh yea, as long as your bucking "todays trend" screw lowering it.... set your own trends.

 

The caps and the wide whites look good together, when you get some money lower it about an 1" and enjoy the ride.

you could turn them around and run black walls......yep too wide for me...but I'm not into the big whites. Maybe take the hubcaps off and see what it looks like. Paint the wheels black and put some chome lugs and chrome center caps..may offset the white some. Right now it looks a little too pimpin'.

How did you make the whitewalls? Grinding? Painted?

If you can make them that wide by grinding, what kind of tires where they?

 

Wear em out, go smaller on next set.

 

Painted with krylon fusion satin white, we'll see how it holds up but I guess if it takes too much abuse I could always mask it off a tad closer to the rim and sand/paint black.

 

You said you didn"t have much money ,pull the caps,trade them for some small dogdish caps,paint the wheels black and it will change the whole look .you can probably pawn those caps and get enough for a new set of small caps

 

How bout some laquer thinner and just wipe away. then try again.

Thanks for the **honest replies btw, negative and positive.... as far as lowering it goes I want to but I can't find anyone that'll cut the springs for me.... I can have some 2"-3" blocks put in. Think 2" in the back would rake the car too much?

Grinder w/ a cutting wheel works real easy. pull them out and hack em.

 

Ditch the 'era' comparison, keep the tires as they are, ditch the caps, paint the wheels red, add skirts and lower the rear, 2" blocks. Drive the hell out of it.

 

Can you not just rotate the tyres so the whitewalls face inwards and start again?

yes, get some chrom reversed wheels and spider caps and those www will look right at home.

 

2in is about as wide as you want. maybe 2 1/4in. just lower it and you'll be okay.

Well krylon whitewalls are temporary anyway..... they can be stripped off and redone at will.

The question is , do you feel comfortable with the wider white wall? I would prefer a more narrow white wall..............but that's what I run and I'm pleased with it on my car.
