Well, I piddled around on the Lander Saturday and got the motor set in and the rear of the frame z'd. I don't have the rear end welded in yet.

Here is a side view. The body and rear end will proably move up a couple of inches. I don't have the front suspension fully welded in yet so I will try to "snug" it all up after that is done.

Berfore some smart ass tells me my grille doesn't line up with the cowl, I'd just like to say that it is just leaning in there and I have not figured out where I am going to cut it to fit yet.

I went over to my buddy Russ's house yesterday. He painted his terraplane a month ago, I just hadn't got any pics of it yet.

  7. Damn that Terraplane is SSSWWWWEEEEETTT! That just flows like the old drawings showing a car going real fast.

The LL is looking good as well, it reminds me of a movie car, like it should be from the Munsters, or something similar. Keep up the good work, it will be a real head turner when completed.

I was going to say the cowl doesn't line up with the grille shell...and assumed you'd take care of that small problem...like raising the body to make it match...but what do I know? Regardless, P-B, it's looking goo-ooood...can't wait to see it all one color...

And that bodywork on that Terraplane absolutely floors me...I may need to ship my '48 Cad Sedanet back there for a chop top and some "minor" body work...

Wild. It's steel, nothing else like it. Another car Matell need's to 'Hot Wheel'. Terraplane is really nice and tough looking. Talent abound's here.

  10. the Lander is looking great. That is a car I will look forward to seeing in person some day.Kind of reminds me of another project a certain HAMBer has in the back corner of his garage on the back burner.I ca'nt wait to see that one done as well, wright Mike.

If I might add my .02......

I think its just screaming to be a tub.

I assume you are going to put a trunk lid on it......right?

What if you didn't put a trunk lid on it, but made it into a 4 seater?

...no?.....o.k. ....I'll shut up now... [IMG] [IMG]

Mongo, I hope you are a patient man. I think I know what "project" your talking about and I'm getting discouraged waiting for some progress. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to ride my Amego with my oxygen bottle attached over to see it before I check out.

It will basically be a tub. I am too lazy to make doors on it. If you look in the trunk area at the Z you will see that there will be no room for a passenger area behind the 2 front seats. I just took the decklid off to make it easier to see down in there. I am going to bring the passenger area back a little bit so the driving position will be reclined.

The rear is gong to be about 3-4 inches lower as well. the body will sit level when it is done.

Gus, it is really easy for me to get things done this time of year. My garage is heated and I hate being cold, so there is not a better place to be when the snow is flying.

Bubble top on the back... just for the rear passengers... Kind of like a "pope dome" or something. Kooky.

    That car is rad.

Sure there is Aaron...keep the forward trunk lip where it is...make that sort of a divider, add a foot well below it, between the frame rails...then shorten the deck lid, add the two rear seats there between the divider and shortened deck lid....then it'd be sort of like a limo with a divider windshield. Step on the tire and slide down in...

And you still don't need no stinkin' doors!!!!
