This may be Very True this day in age.

But i don't care if it 2050 or 1950, TALKING to someone in person you get your information RIGHT NOW, Not when someone gets the E-Mail.

If the order had been called in, They guy on the other end woulda said "SORRY SIR, THATS ON BACK ORDER" or if you E-Mailed the order & called back 2 weeks later the guy on the other end woulda said "SORRY SIR, THATS ON BACK ORDER".

Then a guy wouldnt have to come to the HAMB board and complain there parts arent here yet.

This is why when i post an ADD in the Calssifieds i include my Phone number as well as my E-mail addressso if your intrested you can call & talk about it or if you need more pics you can E-Mail for pics.

However, For some reason, Very Few HAMB members can't even answere a Clasifieds add correctly and I end up playing E-Mail tag cus they don't include important info... Such as There E-mail addres or a zip code to figure out shipping.

If a guy calls, I can ask for all the info i need and get **** handled in a Timely manor.

Computers are only as efficiant as the guy running it.

As a individual person selling stuff on a website I completely agree but as a business offering the internet as a means to buy goods from them or as a means of contacting them that is ******** in my opinion. It is no different than not answering the phone.

They should have someone who looks at the order and if it is backordered send an email saying so if that is how I contacted them. If 20% of their correspondants are through email then 20% of their correspondent force should be dealing with emails. Simple.

Maybe I can't phone during business hours but still would like my questions answered. Or I don't want to pay long distance charges to sit on hold forever trying to talk to someone. They don't know but they don't seem to have any problem taking my money over the internet.

I have never seen a site that allows you to purchase over the internet have any problems processing my info with in a couple of hours but many that take forever to reply to emails.

Bottom line if you can't afford or can't manage to run a site that offers email as a means of communication properly then don't offer it.

Thanks. I spit my coffee all over my keyboard. There was a rumor that they have companion containers on the WalMart boat.

I've always had prompt service with them, but haven't ordered anything for some time now. But I'm not very fond of the Chinese stainless stuff, and make my own bracketry...

This is the first complaint I've heard about 'back orders' with them, though. Lots of friends order from them and like the HAMB members say here: 3 days, always.

I ran into a similar problem years ago before internet existed. I ordered pieces for my Roadster from MAS and it just so happened that the guy in the shop who made those particular parts was on a month long vacation at the time and no one else in the shop did that particular work.

In this case I'd think it was more of a case of the vendor not having the "full order" complete and not shipping them until he can send out the whole pallet to the Speedway warehouse.

Still a pain in the **** when a guy orders as he goes and makes his order with the intent that the pieces will be there in time for the next work session on the project.

I would just call them, if they're like most businesses in this economy they probably have let most people go and and are hanging on for dear life. I don't imagine catalog hot rod parts are exactly flying off the shelves for anyone. If they have to be fabbed in-house the guy is probably running around packing boxes etc. and will "get to it." If they are made in China they are probably trying to get together enough of an order to fill a container. Or they are waiting for enough accounts receivable to hit their bank so they can buy some materials to fab them. Cut them some slack, be glad that you have the extra skins to buy yourself some "toy bling" or cancel the order and make them yourself, if they don't turn out, make them again till they do, you will feel better about yourself, you will have learned some valuable skills IMHO.

I get there stuff in a couple of days out here in Oregon. Maybe the difference is thay have to build the stuff and they have just one guy that does that and maybe he's lazy or really a great fabricator that is giving you perfection??????

I had a problem with parts on back order. Had to wait for the container to come from China by way of Austrailia for the time it took.
