Hey guys, I don't have a hot rod right now but I am here to learn and be in the company of some like-minded individuals.

A big reason I am joining up here is to try to glean some knowledge in painting, lettering and decals for what will be my first project, a custom John Deere radio flyer wagon for my now 3 month old son, Brody. I'm planning on starting with a "Traveler" wagon (with the wood slats above the metal tub), painting it JD green, hopefully obtaining some small tractor tread tires and painting the wheels yellow. John Deere on the sides in yellow along with their logo.

That's the plan anyhow, we will see how it goes! :)

I guess I can post a little bit more, while I'm here..

My favorite truck is a 1954 Chevy 3100, My dad had one sitting in the yard for almost all of my younger years, we never did get around to working on it before I moved away.

I really want to do a custom bobber type motorcycle, whether it be a XS650 type (since they are pretty cheap and easy) or maybe someday I'll be able to afford an old harley. I think my wife would pitch a fit if I bought a motorcycle right now, she thinks they are too dangerous, especially since we had the little one. I've had bikes since I was 14 (now almost 31) and have been going crazy without one.

I used to have a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport (like a Plymouth Duster) and sold it cheap after putting a ton of work into it.

Also had about $3500 into the motor (318 / 4-bbl) but sold the whole car for $3000 to pay some bills. DOH!

Anyways, thats a little more about my interests, thanks for reading, :-D

    Welcome from west Ga.

  4. Well at least you didn't use the "R" word! Pic's aren't what we would call h.a.m.b. friendly, with that said there's nothing that say's that you have to own a traditional rod to belong to the h.a.m.b. just that you have a p***ion for the traditional rods and/or customs. So, Welcome from Arkansas...

edited my OP to make it a little more "h.a.m.b. friendly" but I'm still not sure about the whole "R" word, *shrug*

    Ok, got it! Thanks!

I picked up a wagon off CL last night for $20, looks just like this one, only a little more weathered.

I'll add pics to the radio flyer thread when I'm done I guess! :)
