im looking for first hand accounts of a drag car (g***er or whatever) using truck arms (arent they so popular). are ladder bars better? i have some truck arms but could build ladders.... '52 henry J / Allstate is the recipient... its either arms/ladders and coils or find some better leafs and still need "traction aids" thanks! opinions appreciated too!
Often wondered about this myself as my '64 C-10 Rot Rod would really hook on street tires. I was only making 300-325hp but it put it down.
Thanks all! I drove a '63 chevy truck way back in HS (never had good tires or a posi) and I remember standing on the roadside after dad and i had "tweaked" the timing and watching I'm nail it and thinking "man that thing really plants the tires and lifts the body" ... That was before I knew anything about ladder bars. After I did learn of ladders I alwas thought it was funny how closely they resembled my trucks stock arms! On a side note... Dad drag raced several '55 chevys in '59-'64 and they all had 3 on the tree... I'll never forget the time I rode with him in my truck and was just plain awestruck at how fast he could hit 1 to 2.... I gained a whole new kind of respect form him that day!
