Event Coverage Nostalgia drags and swap meet Crossville, Tn.

A friend asked me to search the Hamb for info on this deal. I didn't find anything here, but found this on a Google search. Anybody else have any info or plans to go?

Damn that sounds like an awesome time!! Wonder how far that is from us folk in Charlotte?

 

7 hours easy... Crossville is about an hour west of Knoxville on I-40.

 

Heads-up- no cl***es for pre-68 hot rods/g***ers/dragsters Gates open @ 8am July 24(racers/vendors @ 7am) Racing at 8:30, burnout contest @ 11:30 , racing ends at 7:30pm $15 admission, $25 to race

This should be a really good show. I can't wait for this one. Awesome drive from Chattanooga to Crossville too.

If anybody is from around this area wants to convoy, we can meet up in Spring City and then head up the mountain. Crossville is on central time, so we have an extra hour to get over there.

I'm plan on going. I've been helping a friend get his 65 shelby coupe ready. Yea, coupe not fastback. Car has been a race car all it's life. Car is a 9:50 car. Sorry no pictures, but it is a nice car. Also I have a soda blasting business that i'll have a vendor space for.

Hey guys, there will be all day car stuff. Be sure to stay for the monthly cruise in. It starts at 1:00 and goes to 5:00. On main street. There will be a live band playin big band, swing, and car related tunes. And there's gonna be a BBQ cook off that is fully sanctioned by the Memphis BBQ Network. We've averaged between 350 and 450 cars at the cruise in. It would be great to see a bunch of HAMB cars there.

Dragstalgia was okay-fine for the first lick. It'll grow I hope I'll be there next year

Whole trip was worthwhile just to slobber on the Kellison flopper!!!!!!! Just like seeing a unicorn What a fantastic car!! I hope somebody got pics of it....

 

I also thought it was pretty decent for the first show. We had a good time and scored a few items at the swap meet. We will also be back next year and will try to bring something to race. Here are a few random pics i snapped.

hey guys;

thanks for everybody that came out and supported the drags, we really appreciate it. I really thought there were some great cars there, Dan Cain gave us a scare, and nobody had a heat stroke! As always with a first time event there may be something that needs to be improved, if you have ideas I'd like to hear them.
