I actually drove out to the Donut Derelicts in the morning and was planning on going to the Aces Show afterwards. I got tired of waiting and went home. Wish I had known you were going.
It must be nice to have so much stuff to choose from. Here in Fresnothingtodo the local burger joint cant even draw 15 cars on a Saturday night. I want to move back to Orange County so bad I can taste it. Anyone have a winning lottery ticket they arent using?
I went to Rat Fink but think I should have gone to Aces .... too far to go with too few cars there .... but there were several spectacular cars!! I don't know how to post pics so I didn't take any but maybe somebody got some ar RF???
I feel your pain, O.C. has more going but we make the best with what we have, huh? Aren't there some guys meeting for coffee & heartattacks at the S.E. corner of Clovis Ave. and Herndon on Sat. mornings? In the auto section of the Saturday "Fresno Bee..S" there is club info and upcoming shows, although I haven't read it for over a year. Anyway, how did the H.A.M.B.er meet and greet go last night?
95 cars grouchy...............not bad next year will be better,, i think its a great place not all crowded, open and green.............missed ya
It was a real cool, kick-back show, kind of like the "alternative" rod shows where 10 years ago. Definitely worth the trip. It will be at the same place next year (KOA Campground in Acton). Lots great bands, and so forth too. My buddy Mark made a deal with the guy that owns this A-bone sedan (from the pictures above) to do an even trade for his '58 Bel Air, which was also there at the show. The sedan is pretty cool, with an all '47 drive train from flathead to banjo. Pretty clean little rod, but I'm gonna miss Mark's *****en '58.
... and maybe a little O.T., but here is a shot of Mark and me in the three-legged race, which we lost - big time. Disgraced by a couple little girls. The other shot is of an AMAZINGLY kick *** new band, the Phantom Pomps, featuring ex-Blazing Haley member Chris Story as front man, and ***** Fontaine on drums. The picture is a little lame - the band was off the hook.
