Fellow car geeks I was lucky enough to grow up around a Ford Team (Gapp and Roush) which at the time was down the alley from my house when I was 13 years old. I have probably taken apart or have seen in pieces more Boss 429's and FE motors than most people have been lucky to see whole. Regretfully the team got to big for the building where they started and my apprentice ship also ended a couple of years after it started. I did in that short time learn and see more things than you could imagine. It also primed me for a life of cars, cars and more cars. When I was a teen I happened upon a deal on a 65 442 convertible which I had for 18 years before I let it go. I now have a very nice 65 442 Sports Coupe and a 65 442 convertible that is in a lot of tiny pieces that hopefully will be whole sooner than later. I hope to be a contributer to this site but have no idea how much time I will be able to spend on the site as life right now is quite busy.
Welcome. I grow up in Livonia too, I know the building you are talking about. I used to drive by there once in a while w/ my parents, probably on the way to the post office. My first car was a 4 door Maverick, it kinda made it okay, since Gapp & Roush had one too.
