my names Chris and im 18, bought my truck when i was 16 and have been doin everything on my own for 2 years. tonight i just finished my 55chev pickup and tomorrows goodguys here in washington.
my grandpa is known around here for his upholstery and his a 36ford custom(among other cars) convertible with 240k miles on it, and the past 2 years hes showed me how to do things right and low cost.

    hers my pickup

but this is my back window sticker first

    the craigslist add

the second thing i did, after filling the gas tank hole on the drivers side of the cab. i learned how to tunnel my antenna

heres my 350sbc with a turbo350 behind it. nothing big but it has a holley4barrel from a lotta years back, stelling and helling air cleaner(not pictured) a mild cam and headers to 3inch pipes to flowmasters. i bought the truck with a camaro clip in it(id rather have had a straight axle)

the first test drive, taking it up to the paint room to put the bed on it(i painted it)dp90. it was a lil exciting knowing 2 years of working everyweekend and day after school i finally i got to drive it.

and this is it today after the test drive, it has a bench seat with black rolls and pleats and red piping along with the same for the headliner(not rolls and pleats)

i have put under 500$ in parts, thats not counting the 2k i paid for the rig. the wheels/tires were a graduation present and the rest of the parts were hangin on gramps wall in the garage or in the backroom, treasure from the old days!
    later guys.

thanks for the welcomes. i made it to goodguys(the maiden voyage) even had to light the tires up on the drive down. drivin your homebuilt ride to its first show is the most badass feeling ever.

heres a pic of me and the woman, in front of my dads 62impala convertible my uncles 56 galaxie and my grandmas 66 mustang.

still got some major tuning to do, the clerance between my a-arms is less then the thickness of a pointer finger, so the drive down i bottomed out every few seconds(but you gotta love being that low) after that im puttin 2inch lowering blocks in the back and getting rid of the rake(was not planned just happened to sit that way after putting new spring perch's on)
and after idling down the motor im tunneling 59cad bullets into the rear fenders, 6inches in.

got plenty of looks in my scrap book and had a kick ass time, later H.A.M.B.ERS
