Top half of my mercury needs some paint, bottom half is still in good shape, Im thinking of goin two tone leaving the bottom navy.I'm leaning towards a semi flat black but I came up with some other ideas on ps. Vote for what you think suits it most or suggest a colour and I'll add it.

just photoshop, on a seperate layer use the brush with the colour you want on a low opacity to keep some of the natural light and shadow.

Send me a pic with what you want and if im bored and have the time ill whip something up.

But yea i dont know how i feel about the white it seems a little too fancy, kinda wanna go meaner.

Dunno about navy and matte black. I think the white looks sharp, especially an aforementioned pearl white. However, the Caddy color reads a little "pink" to my eyes...maybe something more like a Lexus color? Really silly question...what about a very fine pearl silver? IMO, that'd be really sharp against navy.

  10. meaner with a blue contrasting color eh. dont make it easy on yourself do u? That case i'ld start the nose deck out same as base and fade out to a lite aqua by the tailites. kinda like yer pullin the color outa the blue as youre haulin down the hwy- of course if that really was the case then u should reverse it and start lite and bunch up the blue in the tail

  12. Ha no love lost here. Instead of where's your car a better choice might be were are your cars. I think he keeps some of his collection in a Ware house. Of course I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

Anyway I voted for the white. Its a pretty safe bet. Maybe something opalescent. I like the idea of aqua but something like came on a '56 Chebby. Never the less white is a safer bet.

Try photochopping it with the hood, top and trunk the factory blue and try the sidelines in the white, silver and aqua.keep the factory blue on the bottom.

White! "Taste the Rainbow" hahahahahaha! Too funny!

  19. cream is an excellent choice.

One thing to consider is will the bottom buff out. My guess is that you are two toning in part to save the original paint job. Even with the trim separating the paint you're gonna want the older paint to clean up well so it doesn't look like you two toned to save the paint job. Just my thoughts.

Anyway cream would look closer to what mayhaps would have happened than appliance white.

Amen, I say the white combo but def ****e the white up with a Pearl or a light flake to give it some flavor. Saw 65 300 that was White with a super light dusting of Gold flake and I mean super light. Was the baddest thing I've seen in a while and it will really set your **** a part from the cookie cutter stuff. That's what's up!!

I guess I don't get why anyone would ask a forum full of car nuts to decide a paint job...!!! You got no balls...??? You got no ideas...??? You got no individuality...??? If you can't make a decision about paint, then you can't make a decision on which house to buy, which bank to keep your money in or which job you should keep. Who are you trying to please, this forum...or yourself...???

And before you jump my case, check this out:

I don't need anyone to make decisons for me.

Wow now an 80 year old internet smart *** haha

    1. Not asking anyone to decide MY paint job... I'm only looking to hear the opinions of people who have experience in this area. And these opinions I respect.

    2. If I had the money I'd paint the jambs, engine bay, trunk etc all one colour.

    3. If I gave a **** about your car I'd post on your thread. So if you dont give a **** about mine dont waste your time here....

    4. This thread was only intended as a discussion, like one I'd have with my friends or Dad or girlfriend whatever. In the end, Im still going to make the final decision.

  25. amen JB- worst thing bout these sites is some bonehead can jump in and start blabbering just cause no one will listen to em in person... the pearled silver sounds intriging

  28. Rodge isn't 80 he's just a little older than I am. (sorry I know a lot of these fellas)

Listen I got a good idea why someone would ask but I think all cars are blue.

I'm painting my next one black and metalic gold. That is when I get around to paint. I think it'll look good but I'll probably have to ask someone.
