Are there any previous threads showing how to put together a tube grille from scratch? If not, anyone got any tips, tricks, etc? Thanks!

I used 1/2" 304 stainless steel tubing to make my tube grille for the '69 El Camino. There are 4 vertical s.s. flat bars cupped out for the 1/2" tubing to rest in. The whole thing is welded on back side.

I used 3/8" round rod, welded in the center for my bro's '64 Chev SS...we went from fender to fender and over the headlights with it...

I don't have pix on this computer but I have some at home and nearly a how-to if you are interested...

  4. Looks good, Y Block; did you pie-cut the tubes in the center, or just bend 'em?

I put one together. I got a good price on stainless tubing through that popular auction site.
