I like the grill idea, although we'd need to see it mocked up on there to know for sure. Good thinking!

Much better than mine, I think I'm going to just graft in the center piece of a 52 grill with the teeth on it into my 50 grill... :p

I see a lot of pics of people welding on here, and most don't cover up. I've been told that the light from a welder is the right stuff to give you skin cancer, cover up.

Get a magnet and you can usually get those out yourself. Most times thats all the doc is doing anyway. Dont pay for something you can do yourself!

Just for the record that's not a 1980 Camaro rearend or an S10 rear. Both would have saddles for leaf springs. Looks like it's coming along. I like the way it sits.

    G-body or Metric rear end

  27. on the grille what is the look your going for with the whole car?

i like the grille but it may not flow as well say in a mild/custom or a dropped stock appearing car just my 2 cents may look better with some type of cross bar in it

It's hard to say what it's out of with the pics you posted. It a coil spring car rearend which could be alot of things. It's either an 8.5 or a 7.5. It's not an 8.2 because there are ears on the bottom of housing.
If the rearend cover is smooth it's a metric GM 7.5. If It has a bulge in the cover for your gear then it's an 8.5. It looks like it has the bulge but I'm not sure from the pics and my screen. If so then it's an 8.5 which came out in:
1973-'77 Chevelle, Malibu and El Camino, Monte's
    1971-'77 Olds Cutl*** and F-85
1972-'77 Pontiac GTO and Le Mans, Grand Prix
    1973-'77 Buick Gran Sport/Skylarks
Take your pic on cars if you want to know what to get for brakes ect. The 8.5 was a GM corporate 10-bolt and everything is interchangeable. meaning brake pads from a 77 Monte will fit a 77 Malibu. Same thing. Hope this helps.
