Penny tells me her husband, and founder of West Coast Kustoms has p***ed at 2.45 this morning. R.I.P. and say hello to Larry Watson.
I can't believe this. First Larry, then well known Riverside California painter/pinstriper Alan "GORMO" Norman, and now Rich Pichette ?!?!? Along with my father, Rich was one of my influences . I met him right when my family moved to Riverside in 1982 and were friends since. "Desert Tin" car club, the cruise nights in Sunnymead , showing the cars inside the Tyler Mall, to Paso. Penny, i know you're going to read this. Will call you when the time is right but you know that you can count on my family if you need anything at all. Condolences. R.I.P. Rich, and say hello to "Skippy".
Sad news indeed . I'll be keeping Penny and the rest of the Pichette family in my thoughts and prayers.
Man, another kustom guy gone. I've always liked Rich's chopped '57 delivery. Ironically, it was painted by Larry Watson who we just lost last week. His West Coast Kustoms legacy will live on. Godspeed Rich...............E
R.I.P. Mr. Pichette........... Thank you for making this Kulture an even better one!!! My condolences to Penny and the rest of the family.
Rich helped bring back traditional rods and customs at a time when pastel paint and tweed interiors were all the rage (scary, right?). If it weren't for Rich, Penny and Paso, who's to say what kind of shape our hobby would be in? May the car gods smile upon you, Good Sir. You will be missed. My thoughts go out to your family.
sorry to hear about the loss of a great man, my condolences to Penny and the rest of his family. thanks for everything Rich!
Another great loss to the hobby. where would we be without West Coast Kustoms? R.I.P Rich and thanx for showing me the way
I think it's safe to say that the world we live in and enjoy, at least for us out here on the left coast wouldn't have been the same without Rich. Even if you never got the chance to meet him, he has been a big part of why we do what we do. Thanks Rich
Yesterday was my mom's birthday and early this morning my dad p***ed away. My dad had a dream and you made it real. It was West Coast Kustoms. Now its up to us to keep it alive and strong. All of you are friends and family. Thank You All The Pichette Family
Got the news earlier this week that he was having a rough time, they had moved him out of the home into the hospital. Penny was back east and got home Monday evening, I'm glad she made it in time to say her good byes. Amazing family the Pichette's, Rich, defiantly the King of Kustom's. To tell you the truth we might consider this one a blessing, Alzheimer's is a burden that is twice as hard for a family to deal with then the person who has it. Prayer's go out to our Queen Mother Penny and the kids we hole you close to our hearts!
Penny and family, I am so sorry for the loss of Rich. I know the last several years have been hard on the family. Rich is now feeling no pain. Rich Pichette - RIP.
