Guys , please don't forget its the "45th Annual Reno Swap Meet" held at Arco Arena in Sacramento Aug 1st - 6am www.renoswapmeet.com. we have a lot of history and tradition that I don't want to overlook or forget ... our roots go back to 1965 ... way before Hot August Nights .. not many realize that - or care - I guess .... my buddy Bill Finefrock (rip) my partner .. would of loved how we were able to move it and show Hot August Nights that we did not need them as a partner .. he wanted to split from HAN back in 1999 but I talked him out of it. (my Bad) Bill was 70 plus years old then and he threatened to punch out the HAN CEO and walked out of the meeting .. he had money and balls and was tired of the BS HAN was pushing down on the swap meet.. (HAN could care less about the vendors ..and still don't from what I am told ..it's run by a promoter that is also into just money and screw the vendors for all he can) Please keep the suds out of sight ... Arco has been kind enough to host us .. but requested no booze sales or giveaways on the grounds per their ABC license .. If we lose this private owned location I will be up the creek ... there is no other place to hold it without all the h***les of a public owned location like Cal Expo where we would be hit with a 10 dollar parking fee .. (ask any Poor Boy Club member about all the Cal Expo h***les) and one other BIG request .. please be courteous to our crew .. they have a real tough job ... and we are expecting an increase of 20-30 percent as the "word" spread of the success of the new location .. thanks to you guys talking it up .. (even the big commercial guys are chomping at the bit to get in ) ... I would like to just maintain the size we had last year ... biggest isn't always the best ... be safe and we'll get everyone in as fast as we can ... and I would appreciate all your feed back after the meet ...good or bad it will help us plan for 2011 ..... Greg (aka Lowriders Art Gallery) left Montana this morning, only a week after coming back from the 1000 mile return trip from the KKOA show in Salina... he is one of those thats on the move all the time If you see a truck with Montana plates, stop by and give him some grief
