I am restoring a 1960 pontiac starchief and I am trying to find a bushing that fits on a control arm looking piece that is mounted to the frame on the rear in two places and the other end is mounted on the back of the differential on the pumpkin. I need the bushing that is mounted on the pumpkin. I was able to source all the other bushings from pst, but they did not know what that one was called. I looked in all my shop manuels and they show the piece but do not say what it is. I have researched this and made a lot of calls to no avail. I would like to replace this if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks
Those bushings are not reproduced. The a-arm piece for the rear has three bushings. This website has numbers for parts and very helpful http://www.pontiacsafari.com/MPC/index.htm I may have some extra bushing for the attachment to the frame. They come up on ebay from time to time, I'd say check with Rare Parts, but they are too expensive. Also give California Pontiac Restoration a call. Here's some info(numbers are group numbers and reference to find actual part number):
I have the bushings that connect to the frame I was able to get them from pst, I just need the other one
2 folks to contact here on the HAMb between them you'll find your part. Dmarv owns Exiter Auto in Exiter. vaphead owns Reilly Auto in Denver. Both of them have a good handle on OEM parts from the past. Either will treat you right.
