Anybody going this year? It's usually the 1st Sunday in Aug but they bumped it back to this Sun (I heard rumors of why but who cares). there's always something worth seeing and I plan to take a bunch of pics this time. We'll be showing a Packard roadster (imagine that...) and another friend of ours is showing a Chevrolet "Light Six", which may be 1 of 1 according to his research. safari-wagon posted earlier about the Bortz collection of Motorama cars, and the normal groups of histroic racers and sportscars, heavy cl***ics, 50s icons... So who's going?
I'm not going but I know of several very cool '62-'65 SS/AFX cars that are attending. Dave Strickler and Gas Ronda cars just to name a few!!
I wish I could make it. Going up north. Maybe next year. I hear that the "ebay find" SD Tempest is supposed to make it's post-restoration debut there.
That's the *****in thing about this show. Where else can you see pre-war racers and early drag racers together? All blended in with the cars you usually just see pictures of. Duesys, Packards, Hispanos, br*** cars, all wrapped up in nice clean setting. No matter if your taste is that of a raised pinky finger or a Pabst Blue Ribbon guzzler...it's all there.

The car that the Highlander & CaptnScarlet worked on took home a People's Choice award & I forgot to take a pic of the ****** thing... It was good to see a bunch of HAMBers there.
Here's another shot of the beautiful Packard Captain Scarlet and the HIGHLANDER worked on. As for the Bucciali, I'm 99% sure this is a real original.
Here's a few shots from Sunday's Meadowbrook Hall Concours D'Elegance. Sadly, this will be the last Concours held at Meadowbrook Hall as the 2011 event will be moved to The Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth, Michigan, a golf course and conference center. In these 50+ pix, I tried to focus on the somewhat rare or unusual cars as viewed through the HAMB perspective. Enjoy!-Mark Here is the view as you walk into the event. Meadowbrook Hall was the Dodge family mansion and most of the grounds were long ago donated to form Oakland University. The Di Dia 150 AKA The Bobby Darrin Dream Car built by Andy Di Dia. The maestro himself, Andy Di Dia at a grand 93 years young. Starting in 1953, it took him seven years to build the car and at a cost of $93,000. The PA announcer told a story that in June this year, one of the shops finishing up a restoration for the Concours was having trouble fitting the doors, so they called Andy up and at 93, he came by the shop and machined the door hinges to make it all fit together swiftly to a concours level of finish.
