    HONORING DAN GURNEY

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will be honoring one of the true legends of motorsports-Dan Gurney - the Cars He Drove, the Cars he Built, August 13-15 and a selection of 24 of those cars will be on display for spectators to view and enjoy.

"I am both humbled and blown away by what the Motorsports Reunion Management is putting together at Mazda Raceway," said Dan Gurney. "To see so many of the cars we have built over the last four decades ***embled in one place is an occasion for celebration. My gra***ude goes to the many car owners who were willing to bring the cars I raced so long ago to the show. Thanks for keeping history alive, thanks for the memories.

Gurney ruled back in the day.
Someone wanted him to be President as I remember!

Dan started out running flathead powered roadsters at the dry lakes and the salt.

I was lucky enough to see him race his F1 car at NurburgrIng. I still don't know how a guy that tall got in a car so small. When I saw him step out of it for the first time on pit lane, it was as if some medieval knight had just peeled off his armor! He seemed to wear it like a second skin. Gary

  10. We ran against the McLeagle Can-Am car 2 weeks ago at Road America. Pretty amazing, some of the solutions Dan came up with for his cars. A true racing legend.
