if you look at MAL's post at the bottom of the page, there is a link to some pictures from a recent show with the updated rod riguez
it looked so good before... why did they have to mess with it more. maybe its just me but man those first photos are 100 times better that the last. does anyone know why they changed it. was it sold to some lame or somthing?
I dig the first incarnation, but the latest version is one of my all time favorite show-rods! Man, these guys went out on a limb and tried some different spins on old favorites! Everytime I see this car I get re-stoked about it!
I like the new version of this car better. The paint really threw it off for me before, and i think it looks good with those wheels and fenders. The new grille is cool too, but it looks wierd from angles because it's not flat, it's 3 dimensional. I still don't dig the interior though, I think thats one thing that could be improved on. I like the headers though, good to see some guys over there doing this quality of work. The chop is original too, got a cool rake to it.
such a cool car, but i was also noting the cars in the backgrounds. did anyone get a load of the majorly CHOPPED orange chevy behind it in the first photos, and correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure its a more-door!! wild! I also noted that theres a chopped yellow chevy with silver flames is in the background in the "before" and "after" photos, are these cars linked somehow???
I'm also a bigger fan of the new version. It has a more 60's show rod feel to it. The paint is better too.
The old version was very tasty. It looks like the same kind of thing that happens when some one buys a car that does not understand the original vision.
I like both versions but with the newer one the fender deal looks funky to me with that little thin piece going from front to back...otherwise awesome.
I'm digging the new version better. Gotta love a show rod. I just don't have the vision to create something like this but I sure can admire someone who does. Frank
"Rod"riguez lands at California with the dream of the owner, Mr. Shimohira, on the 20th of the next month. For a while, this car will stay at CA. Moreover, please see the scene which "Rod"riguez actually runs.
If I can get to a scanner I will scan a mag that I picked up while my ship was in Japan. All the writing is in Japanese but it has some cool build pics of the car. Eric
Heard that Rod-riguez will land for POMONA Grand National RoadStar Show in next Jan.
I´m the man with two Tudors and I´ll say that the engine and interior are totally bitchin´! Such a broadminded hot-rodding is my opinion! Ugh.
