I was at the local grocer store today and found a copy of #10 on the magazine rack. It's not mint by any means, but it was cool to find it there anyhow. Had to convince the clerk that i still wanted to buy it since it was one the don't carry. She got the manager involved and he got it rung up on a SKU code with the same price! Just something that doesn't happen everyday. jerry
You found The Rodders Journal in a grocery store? Sure... you buy up every gauge and tool on the planet for .10 cents on the dollar, then find TRJ from ten years ago on a magazine rack for cover price? AAAARRRGGGHHH! Only you...
did he ever tell you about his $2.50 leather jacket or the countless motors etc.. he's won at street rod shows? the only part of this story that surprises me is that they didn't just give it to him.
Exactly!!! I once watched him walk into the the Goodwill store at one of our cruise nights, and walk out with five or six ORIGINAL vintage Hawaiian shirts from the forties or fifties in perfect condition for six bucks.... Between things like that and his legendary crop circle making technique at Good Guys shows - the man is a legend!
Enfo! I just finally saw the vintage torque video from the shop party a year and a half ago! I know timely... My, you and Hot Rod Ron looked like you were having way too much fun! Looking back on that night, I couldn't figure out why Ron kept poking me and trying to get me outside... you guys needed people to do stupid stuff! I'm good at that!!!
have you seen the Checs hallooween party video from either 99 or 2000? There's a flame thrower contest in which the couch that Jerry's on becomes engulfed in flames you see him stand up off the couch burning behind him in a blaze and smoke rolling off of his back..looked like some sort of hairy Zombie movie.
