Can anyone identify this grill shell??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kellys Hot Rod Parts, Jun 15, 2010.

  1. My friend took this off the wall of the grainery where it has hung since the late 40s when he was a kid. Anyone have any Idea what it is came off of? The honeycomb radiator looks great and is very straight the closing louvers in the shell are stuck and the plating is bad but it is in overall good condition. He may be willing to sell it but would really like to know what it was on. We would appreciate any help we can get thanks........Kelly

  3. wow..... only took 28 minutes

  4. And my buddy never heard of the h.a.m.b. he talked about hanging it back on the wall or sending it to the scrap. This must all most be some kind of record!!! Next question is it worth anything? What should he ask for it?

I have a '32 Olds shell with the winterfront shutters like this one, in about the same shape. I think I paid $85 for it. They're neat, but not hugely in demand.

  13. Would have to ask the owner but I think the center bar is orig. Peak may have been added....may have originally had a rad cap there. My first thought was that it came off of a tractor. It's not a repop or anything. It's old steel.....

found the top half at a garage sale and built the rest, added the center bar peak. the bars are polished aluminum rods. Did have a radiator hole in the top that i filled, have no idea what it was originally.
