67 this year (going on 15 according to my better half). I have been without a good ride for several years but this year got my shoebox. My best buddie Dick, also the other half of DJ's Louver Service, NH's best louver company, likes to remind me of a cover of Hot Rod Magazine from the 80s. Had a SOHC conversion in a mustang convertible a 70+ lettuce grower in the Imperial Valley built to cruise. I guess I said that still cruising in your 70s in a real hot rod/custom, would make life worthwhile. So I stepped up and bought this car and sure am glad I did. Saturday we'll put in 3:31 gear set ('52 Fordomatic gears) to replace the 4:11s. Then next year we can do Syracuse, Rhinebeck and the like. Also today I am like a kid of 15, just bought a set of NOS Foxcraft skirts for the shoebox off Craigslist, not repops, were in a Western Auto box from MA someplace. Better than Xmas around here tonight.
Yea 31.5 yrs on each leg, Glad I got to live thru the late '50's and '60's . Wouldn't trade it for anything even if I could
73 last May, just updated my PS3 today, got an Ipod last Christmas. What I used to do all night now takes all night to do but would not go back. Headed to nats week, seems to be the thing to do. Leave the gold chains to the wife.
Yeah 63 here. What Mazooma said!! We have lived thru it, not just read about it. Still building a hemi 32 roadster, by the way.
sixty is an age I look foreward to ! ! that is when I plan on retiring if my tired ass holds up that long .... Mazooma1..........I really enjoyed that read, almost as much as I enjoy your photo contributions to this forum. Thanks and May the force be with you !
61 wishin' I was 65...house paid off.... entitlements sufficient to survive & cruz and medicare to boot....can't wait......only thing missin's a babe in the same situation....open to referrals.......
Mazooma ...as usual your insight is faultless....your experiences to die for....your neighborhood the most inviting...and your memories priceless.....any trailers for sale in the area?
61..doing cars..cycles..guitars and work.. Exercise keeps you fit..and doing what you love.. I have a friend who is 75..has lost some of his memory..but runs about 5 miles a day... We have no idea where he's at now..should be near Illinois we think..
There's 430 of us in the Old Fart's Club here on teh HAMB. Didn't see the original poster there. We're probably the most orginized bunch with the most number of threads and posts of any HAMB group. We have our own T-Shirts and license plate toppers to boot. So why are so many of the guys who posted here not in the OFC?
63 last April. Still drag racin' and building a '32 roadster. Just because you grow up doesn't mean you have to grow old!
I'll be 62 next month and am proud to say I'm the oldest teenager in town.. Now to check out the Old Farts group.
turned 65 last April......building another deuce roadster and a 3w to add to the fleet.....build cars all winter....drive them all over the country all summer...avg 15,000 miles each summer. Hot rods keep me young. Dale
