Hey guys so I am running a Model A axle and I want to use my 40's bones. I know I need a spacer, but can any one tell me the correct thickness? from what I could measure it was .070in give or take? Did most of you guys get a machine shop to make you one? or find one at a bolt store?

    Thanks for all the help.

It's late and I'm tired...but as I recall... Model A is 2-1/4 perch boss... 32-36 axle is 2".....37-up is 2-1/4" again. So, Why do you need a spacer? Wear??

Model A is 2-1/4" boss, right??? and I am sure 40 bones are 2-1/4"

    Something's worn

Get your caliper, The axle boss should measure 2.250"

Inside the 40 yoke should be the same..2.250"

As the others have stated, A axle and '40 bones fit. Grab a ruler.

Hey thanks for all the imput guys! sorry it has takin me so long to get back to you, work has been really hectic so not much computer time. So you guys were right that my axle is 2.25in thick but my bones are just over that at 2.32in, so I dont know how they got to that size but they look to be in excellent condition. I have two washers laying around that can fill up that gap and I could use as a spacer or I guess I could just try and **** the space closed with the perches?

I'd use the washers. If they are a bit too thick, use a wide flat file to keep them flat.

The 40 style (spring ahead) bone yokes are pretty strong, so forcing the gap closed without a washer may not be the best plan.

Hey thanks guys, I think I will try spacing it with the washer first that way I know I am guaranteed a tight fit.
