Got my new Hop Up today and I saw an add for new 97's. I checked out the web site, dosn't sound like thier out yet. Sounds pretty neat, not that I plan on buying any. At a cool $400 a pop, I'll stick to my rebuild kits! Not that it's too much, it seems reasonable. But for a 2 or 3 carb setup that gets 'spensive quick.
I've been in contact with 'em for a year or so. They have a lot of setbacks but it looks like they may get it together eventualy. Seems like they're pretty pickey about their product. That could be a good thing. And yea @ 400.00 a pop they're way out of my price range.
Every thing is being repoped,,,why not 97's,,,, Then we will hear the ol' arguments about original verses repro's,,, I'll keep using 94's as long as they are reasonable! HRP
I spoke with "suedesled" otherwise Marty (Northwest Speed Equipment), if you have any questions you might shoot him an email or call him, he says hes gonna be an official vendor when they are released.
Yeah we've been working with Stromberg on these for a year or so. We will be a distributor for them (Possibly US Distributor!) They will be unvieled at the Indy show in March. Complete carbs will be available as well as a full line of replacement parts.
I have already orders some parts from the guy in England. Clive is his name very nice. I think I was his first customer. The parts were great.
Hey, pretty soon I can have a new British carb on my new French flattie in my ol' American hotrod. How cosmopolitan...! C'mon Clive - how much in sterling to those within "p*** the parcel" distance?!
i used to have a product line and i had stickers made that said "hecho en los estados unidos". thought that would throw people a little. stevo
Wow- First post on the shiny new board (does it devalue when you drive it off the lot? But seriously) That six-carb setup is cool. Looks like the "forest stromberg" or something. Keep up the good work! -Crew
Actually the new Stromberg has sevral changes including new top gaskets that prevent leaking and needle valves that don't stick! And don't forget floats that never crack or sink!
I hate it when a new produst comes out and I don't have any kids left at home to sell into slavery. Unless I get to rebuilding it looks like that 6 deuce manifold will be sitting on the shelf permanently. Frank
