ditto---the difference between good and bad fenders is defined in lots of hours.

Talk about a 100% improvement. The new tires, wheels and hub caps really turned the looks around...................changed from stocker to hot rod.:)

Couple updates here. Found some decent old repro front and rear bumpers. Had them on for a week or so, and decided, I think those fenders are looking like they need some work/replacement.

I was able to find a nice set of original '32 fenders from Roadstar, and in the next few months will be working to get them on the car.

There is some rust in the upper rear wheel wells, that really needs some attention first. Anyone know if there is a company out there making patch panels or quarters for this area?

For the meantime, the car will be a highboy. I kinda like it.

Lookin' Awesome Mikey... Like the tire combo choice. When you gonna get rid of all that old original ford junk on the car and install the cool billet aluminum stuff, Bitchin firewall, SBC, turbo 350 and 9" rear that you've been collecting?

Well, its been a while since I posted about the '32. Here's the latest...

Been working on fixing the rust-through in the body.

The rear wheel wells on both sides where the fenders interface were completely shot, and a few areas on the wheel well panels themselves. They don't make '32 Sedan replacements, so I just did a little bending and shaping and welded in patches. Came out pretty good I think.

Fenders will be going back on next anyways.

Also just got done patching a hole in the cowl today. Even bought a patch panel off the HAMB here with a little patina so it matches!!

Repairs look good and you won't see them once the fenders are installed. How hard was it welding the rusty metal or did it clean right up? Good job.

Thanks - it wasn't too bad. I had to cut to where there was more steel than rust, sanded it down to bare steel, and then I just did little tack welds with my little Miller MIG. Took forever, but worth it in the end!

Hey Mikey, Good to see our still messing with the 2dr. Everything you do just keeps improving it. Are we going to see an engine transplant in the future?

Yo Franky - Yep, still screwin' around with it. Its been a great project so far. Not yet sure about the engine situation. I'd love to put a flathead in it, but I don't have the cash to build one. It would be nice to find a good runner cheap. For now the banger does just fine.

Hey - when are we gonna start working on the five window? ;)

  29. Looking real good. I haven't seen anything on here since you bought it. I like the updates and the videos. It looks like a real fun project.

I think you might have to use that Michigan sweatshirt as an oil rag though.....just kidding.
