Due to some unforeseen issues the Detroit boys can not make the trip. Good luck to everyone, be safe.

I am really bummed out, Steve. It was going to be my pleasure to make the acquaintance of the ftroop. You guys have some great rides.

tee-shirts are ready, some of the crew are at the track, the weather will cooperate.

we are going to have a great day!

    We had a great time

The weather was ****py early in the AM and likely deterred a few from showing up.
It cleared and we were running by 11:00. We had a very nice number of participants and show cars. It ended up being sunny and warm.

The quality of the event was sky-high. We had great match races of cars that looked like they were being raced in 1966. The performance of the cars was certainly better.

The track was hooking hard and claimed quite a few victims. ******s and rear ends were the most abused.

We hope next year this event will more than double in size.

A lot of credit goes to Eric and Ryan for spearheading this. Eric promoted the heck out of it and provided fantastic organization. Ryan put together sharp looking flyer and a great tee-shirt. I hear we sold a bunch.

There were many individuals that helped out. No matter how large or small your part was, it was important and contributed greatly to making this something special.

...the Meltdown turned out great; a bunch of us Tin Butchers were there and a few ran their cars. The weather turned out to be very nice. Overall we had a great time and look forward to this event again next year.

  9. Glad to hear the event went well.
NOW, you have something to build on for next year..

I am also very impressed with the QUALITY of the cars that came. Everyone that came was "the real deal" we thought X-cl*** would be the largest cl*** with updated non vintage race cars. Only 2 cars in that cl***.....the Gas Cl*** was by far the largest!!! Never expected that.
Pete and Paul's Dragster & Fiat Match race's were the Highlight of the Show for me!!!
Pete I really enjoyed helping push start your rail, you to Paul....so much fun!

I was also very pleased to see 2 40 Willy's Coupe's from Geezers there...thank you guys I have never seen either of those cars before and they are FANTASTIC!!!

I also want to Thank the Midwest G***er's....they brought some period cars and were a great edition to the meet....Thanks guys!

2 guys told me that they have been to many events through out the Midwest and they LOVED the feel of this event, it was like a huge bunch of friends, very relaxed, very respectful, and very friendly. I can bet money that NO ONE made it through the day wihtout a handshake and a thank you from one of our crew for coming!

Sold over 100 t-shirts.....Thanks for your part Bob....and to everyone who helped p*** out flyers and promote....THANK YOU.

    First one down......FANTASTIC!!

Thank you guys for putting on a nice event. In spite of all the little problems with my ride, we still had a good time. Next year should be even better.

You guys had a great turnout! I only saw a few "good" cars run but what I saw was geat! Nice g***ers, dragsters, and some hot rods. Mostly I saw muscle cars and Jr. Dragsters running, but even those were fun to watch. I just came in at a bad time and couldn't stay as long as I planned. I saw some great stuff in the pits getting ready to run. I hope they let you do it next year, and give you a whole day to just run vintage stuff!

Eric and I are very pleased with the turnout. I had a great time and everybody I talked to said they had a great time.

The track was hooking great and everyone was running their cars hard. I believe there were 3 broken rear ends, 2 broken transmissions, a seized motor, and a broken brake caliper.

The track owners are on for next year and want to help make it bigger and better!

The Meltdown shirts went like hotcakes. I only have 3 left. Big thanks to www.topnotchvehicles.com for sponsoring us in that department

There has been so much excitement the last couple days, I am still emotionally drained! I will post more later.

I had a great time at the Meltdown! It was so great to see all the cars on the track. My buddy Denny was grinning ear to ear when he got his blown flathead powered dragster consistently into the 10's on 3 or 4 runs!

    Jon,

I was running ok, had a little launch issue was at 8k when Hartman left had to let her come down a little .....Ryan and I are already talking Rematch for 2011. We didnt get to finish our match races...I blew the Pontiac/Olds Rear in my car...so badly we could not load it correctly onto the trailer we had to put it on in reverse.....even wrecking the rear end it was a FANTASTIC time....High Quality Cars!!!

Thanks Bob at www.TopNotchVehicles.com for his support and sponsorship of this event. Thanks to the whole crew for all your help no matter how big or small!!!

Eric and Ryan thank you for putting this together. Laid back and lots of fun. Great cars and old days feel was what the doctor ordered. You can watch it happen, you can make it happen or you can wounder what the hell happened (Capt Phil). You guys made it happen. Great job by all involved.

Dan.....not sure if your on here or not. But I wanted to personally thank you for making the long haul with the 33 Willy's. I had a few people mention a chopped 33 Willy's with steel wheels and spindle mounts is a BAD *** mother F*cker!!

Thanks for coming and hope to see you again next year....365 days to start preparing to run one of those Willy's!!!
