It premiered down here in NC a couple months ago at an old dirt track. Looks pretty awesome!!!! I seen that one of the guys on American Pickers was wearing a Red Dirt Rising shirt one episode.

Looks like it could be an interesting movie. Haven't seen it yet but lately Hollywood can take a good story and do a good job ruining it. Hopefully they haven't done it to this one. If it turns out to be a stinker it won't be long before it's on pay for view.

Kind of funny how these back woods racers could afford such shiny acrylic urethane paint jobs back then. Just another thing the disconnected in Hollywood mess up.

I would hesitate to nit-pick, this movie is obviously an Indie., it has no major distributor. The cars are what were available from the local owners, not from a period correct Hollywood pool of museum cars. Until you attempt to film your own semipro. movie & see how incrediably expensive it is, don't complain unless you can do better.

x2. il take any movie as long as paul walker and vin diesel arent driving a scion with a top fuel wing on the trunk. Thats the best thing I have seen so far that is anywhere near professional and even close to what the hamb is about.

Absolutely! My son and his buddies made the indie film "SPIRAL", It amazed me how expensive it was. I'm just glad that someone is making a movie with cool cars in it...

I didn't realize the movie was an "Indie". It puts a different light on it for me. I'm just tired of Hollywood taking a good story like Pearl Harbor and turning it into a chick love story. The story of Pearl Harbor has more than enough authentic drama and real life action they didn't need to do anything other than record what really happened. Same with ***anic and the other real life stories they tend to screw up. Hollywood tends to make things either a lot cleaner than it was or a lot worse, depending on how they want to slant a subject.

I'll definately take a look at it if it comes to my town.

Always up for supporting an "indie" flick. Warts and all.
The big budget h'wood **** is vomit inducing, at best. I have issues with inconsequential people reading lines sounding like somebody I'd like to meet, then seeing them with their arm around a Venezulian dictator. scheeeeesh

I sent an e-mail to the contact to hopefully find more info on when and where you can view the movie. Its supposed to be the true story from runnin shine to the roots of nascar.

I agree, I wasn't trying to bash the movie, I still want to check it out, I just always find myself picking out things like this. Totally understandable that they had a limited budget and are working with what they can, and it looks like they did a good job.

I watched it this morning, Cool movie, It's got some neat cars and simple story. almost a chick flick with cool cars but not bad at all.
You do see a few radial tires and welded aluminum radiators in stock cars, But they didn't try to make them look like they were going 200mph.
