    Hey guys,
I tried a search on this and came up empty.

I'm planning to build a fairly light duty ramp truck to haul my roadster on.
My plan is a 32 BB chassis with a 440 and tourque-flite out of a camper.
I have been looking for a 32-34 cab I can afford and I haven't found one that isn't 15 states away.

    Yesterday I found 2 '47 cabs,both with doors,both buildable,one being almost cherry,with good glass even.
He'll trade me the cabs for the 440 set-up I have, which means I would probably have to put a sbc or sb olds in it.
I can live with that if a '47 cab will work on my chassis.
I fabricate and wrench on stuff for a living and know anything will fit with enough work.

    I guess my question is,is this a good idea?
Are the frames close to the same width between a '32 and '47?
I didn't think to get a measurement yesterday when I looked at the cabs and can't check until this weekend.

I hope someone on here has done it and it turned out just great and has pics to share?

I dont know how close they are in size or shape, but it should be easy to mount a 40-47 cab on the bb chassis. You have to make a custom bed anyhoo. Hey, what are you going to do with the other cab?

Yeah, solid,I think I'm just gonna get 'em home and see how close it is,I just didn't really want to get rid of the 440.:(I guess you can't have everything, right?
I'm not sure about the other cab,I didn't get a very good look at it.
Thought about building a little pick-up out of it.

If you really want a 32-34 cab.... Hold out until you find one nearby. As you may know, Projects are a lot of work. I find it easier to complete my projects of it's what I really want ... not just " I can live with that " .

If they're the ones on the old Craplist.com keep looking for your 32-34. I looked at them about a month ago. Not worth worth a running 440 and ruining a vintage chassis for. Especially if you're having "second thoughts".

Thanks, slick, but these aren't on Craigslist,he's not really trying to sell them.He just wants that 440.
And I won't ruin the chassis just by bolting a '47 cab to it.

Well, I got one of the cabs sitting on there, not sure of the exact year,I'll just call it a '40 because that sounds older:p.
It's just a little wider than the '32,,but the pedals slid right in place where they should.
The '32 steering box and column looks like it will fit as well, using the later drop.
The front part of the cowl where the fenders sat are a little rusty any way,so I think if I just fill that area in,it'll look good with the '32 fenders and boards.
I like how it looks so far so far,how about you guys?

That's not a 1932 BB chassis; nice that it has a stromberg though...
