Great pics, thanks for posting. Good to see those of the LSR family and the iron. Helps make missing the meet a little more bearable.

All the best for a great meet for you and the Britt Bikes.

Catch up with you again on a future safari.

I was up there with my grandson Friday and Saturday. Had to go home early Sunday, so I don't know how the racing was. I keep checking the LTA web site for results.

Bob Jepson finally got his '27T down the track for the first time. Got his rookie run out of the way on Saturday....was going for 150 Sunday...waiting to hear from him.

Many more at Loring this year. Last year was good, this year was great. Really nice location and facility. The ride up there is so much more relaxing than the run to Maxton...now they need to get more dates. Especially earlier ones. Can't test for Bonneville the week before you leave for the salt...just not enough time to fix the breaks.

Great photos, any more of the indy stlye roadster? The bellytanks are incredible, i want to build one so bad. Thanks, oj
btw - whats with the coats and long sleeved shirts? It's august, the snow has likely melted and the ice is gone from most of the rivers what is the problem? That is some of maine's better weather! (i'm originally from ashland, not far from there).

2 wheel nation --- are you sure those pics were taken in Maine??? It's always overcast and raining when I'm up there! Those pics are top-notch, please post more.

I ran okay ... 3 runs of 153 mph each ... consistantly inconsistant. I believe I need different gearing.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like great weather and lots of good cars. Any idea on what times Ronnie Roadster got in the flatty powered bellytank?

All nice additions. Good to see a new generation interested in carrying the torch forward. Thanks everybody for the time and effort to post.

Heard that Ronnie Roadster started shakedown runs in the 112-114 range but my source left early Sun so I didn't get a lot of final speeds.

Thanks for posting. Nice group of diverse cars. Neat to see the tanks, and Clarence Bushy's 37 as well.

That indy styled car was insane, all hand built. The aluminum body was flawless! It is actually used as a street car and had working headlights.

I am uploading a video of it launching at the line right now, I'll post when its ready.

  27. The full fendreed '32 5 window was driven to Loring from NY by my old buddy Mike Ottavi..then ran it down the runway @128+...then drove it home.
Mike's an old Baltimore boy who was my office manager at Ai Fiberglass in the 70's.

Hi Swifty I was able to make three runs during which I experienced various new car issues. The best speed was on my second run a bit over 115 MPH my biggest problem was the front tires they were bouncing a lot and as the speed increased it got worse. The lever type shocks I used will not do the job. So a redesign is underway for that problem.
Another issue I experienced was the torque converter is to loose. The converter and C-4 transmission are left overs from my old sling shot dragster days so I'm already in the process of removing them so I can modify them for an LSR type car.
Overall considering we built almost everything from scratch I'm pretty happy with how it all worked out. If I can complete everything by October I hope to run her one more time this year at Maxton.
This ride is like being in a go cart its a very strange feeling but after my third run I felt at home behind the wheel I can't wait for the next run to take place.
