I just came back from a 1.5 week road trip for work, well, they pay me to do it so, let's call it work...

Anyways, I did some travelling by car through Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Colorado. We pulled into a hotel in Imperial Nebraska and right behind us, this guy pulls in with a hulk of a body on a trailer behind his Ford truck. We saw it coming down the road and waited for it to roll by. To our surprise, he was looking for a room also. We talked to him for a while and he told me that he owns a ranch right around there and JUST pulled the body out from the weeds on his ranch. He said that it had sat there for decades and I believe him! Best I could tell, it was a 27-28 Model T. IF anyone knows better, feel free to chime in. He asked me if I was interested in it. Well, I WAS, but I was getting on an airplane in Denver and it wouldn't fit in the overhead compartment. I should have asked what he wanted for it but didn't. I did get his contact info though. His name is Jay and he seemed like a great guy. He said that he wasn't going to trash them but, he'll put them away in his barn where he lives and if he doesn't sell them to some one who will do them right, he'll keep them for future projects. He's done a few cars already and works on airplanes so he's most likely qualified. Sorry that the photos are a little fuzzy, it was getting dark and my flash was dead.

With those fenders, is it safe to say that this is a 27?

AS if that wasn't enough, during my stay in Frisco, Colorado, I came across this darling duo. They have been sitting there for years, just wasting away the time. I've got to think that the winters would be the roughest weather for these two.

The best I can tell, the one is about a 28 Chevy (left) and the other is a Buick from about the same timeframe. Anyone got any insights on these two?

Living in the East, most of these finds have dried up years ago. It was great to see that there are still some out there and, to find some so fresh like the first one was a real thrill. The guy said that he also has another body sitting next to where the first one came out of. He'll be digging that one out very soon. It was a great trip and finding these two jewels of history just made the adventure that much more fun.

It was definitely "Farm Fresh". He was still sweaty from harvesting it! :D

I believe you're right. They were at someone's house and I didn't want to go digging around them, just shot the photos from a distance. I wanted to be respectful to someone else's property so I don't get too close. I'm sure many a small part has disappeared by folks who "just wanted to get a closer look".

I'm pretty sure it was roadster pickup by the frame layout. Here's a different angle.
