I like the late 80s for van front bumpers... have to narrow them but they are nice and fit the look of the truck!

I actually like the 1960 F-100 bumper, but ****ed back close to the body.

only pic of mine i have on this computer.. but its a junkyard bumper i found in a 69 van, dont know if it in fact came off of that van, but it needed narrowing, cut the frame rails back, built some brackets. [IMG]

Even after they are narrowed, they look too flat to look right

I was looking at flipping a 55-59 chevy truck bumper upside down so that the long sweeping side would sweep towards the under side of the truck. I tryed it out and the bumper is too fat looking (too tall). What I would like to try is plasma cutting an inch or 2 off the long sweeping side to shorten it up.

Here's a 67-79 Ford truck front bumper that I shortened. I'm in the process of modifying some bumper guards to fit and cover the welds. I know it's not really that much different than a 59-60 front bumper, but I have 50 bucks into, and I like the way it looks. If I ever have the money to burn, I'll probably just get one of the premium chrome bumpers from LMC.

I don't think they're too flat. I've put the valence back on since this pic was taken, and I think it matches the flow of the rest of the front-end pretty well. Afterall, they are referred to as refridgerators.
