Ive been poking about here for a while so I thought Id say gday. Im a sheetmetalworker by trade and Im a GM man by choice. I got a couple of cars, this is my 69 HT Holden Kingswood wagon. Shes a 161cu six with 3 on the tree. Totally stock aside from a recent coat of jam and a new metalflake roof.A great car that I love to drive. This is my Chev longbed. I imported it a couple of years ago from some guy in Orange county.I've been fixing all the stuff that was wrong with it as well as tidying it up a bit along the way.I notched the rails a bit as well. Still got plenty to do.A diff swap is next on the list. Finally is my 67 HR Holden Ive had this car since I was 18.(Im 43 now) It been through plenty of changes over the years, which have been spent mostly in the shed. Originally a 186ci six,It had a sucession of SBCs and various ******s,autos ,manuals,9inch diff etc. It now sports a hot 6 banger again and a 2 1/2 inch roof chop. Ill finish it one day.... My next car on the list is a 65 Holden which Im collecting bits for to build a straight axle g***er to get into a bit of nostalgia drag racing. No pics yet, just a pile of parts with no actual work done. All in good time,Im in no rush.
Welcome, nice collection you have there. Lets see the HD. I allways liked the HD instead of the HR. Just better front and rear panels in my opinion. Controversial when they came out in 1965. There was talk of the front panels cutting pedestrians up in case of an accident . Lots of BS then.
Thanks,Gaz. I prefer HDs as well. I used to drag one years ago with a 383.It went 10.86@122. Ill scan some shots of it and post them up. I got no photos yet of the new one,its not even stored at my house at the moment. Basicly a primed and stripped shell on wheels. It will be running an alcohol 186 with triple 2inch SU's and 4 speed Saginaw.Thats the plan, anyway It may get started before christmas.Finding the time is the killer.
A HD G***a! Been keeping that one a secret Some flake and lace paintwork for that one??? Good to see you have joined up
I knew you would be upset if I started another project instead of finishing the HR...again... ..Regards paint,I was just gunna drop it off and get you to call me when you got sick of hosing on the layers.....probably still will...hehehe
Seeing someone else seems to know something about the build time frame. How long ago was the roof chopped????? I know you will finish it, and it will look great. But hurry up as we are all getting a lot older waiting for it.
Welcome aboard. Love the HR. Had a procession of early holdens when I was younger. Used to get spare parts from the tip, or Sims metal. A bit different these days.
