The only set I ever saw on one was on a truck in Waco Tx that had every chrome doodad that Western Auto had on the shelf hanging off it in the early 70's. The old gent who had the truck thought customizing was sticking more stuff on the truck. To me they usually look like an afterthought on a truck and outside of some of the roundfender trucks few can carry off the skirt thing. Maybe if it was very low, very smooth and had wide whites and nice caps on the front you could carry it off but otherwise they will probably look like something you had an extra hundred dollars to blow and didn't know what else to do with it on that truck.
My buddy who p***ed away this week had a set on his 64 Merc half ton ...they were modified 50's mopar if I remember correctly
It's like spandex-only a VERY few can get away with putting it on. You're better off NOT doing it. But that Mercury truck pulls it off.
You know, ive looked at my truck thinking this same thing....but i don't think skirts on these trucks would work. Unless a lot of other things were done first, then you might just be able to pull it off. btw, that 64 pulls it off nicely!
i actually think these look ok. pretty good in fact. but this bed style already has the body-line from the factory, the skirts blend in well. i don't think it'd look near as good on a 57-64 square-box. round fender chevs look good with 'em.
Sorry to hear about your buddy! May he RIP! Nice truck. It was just a thought and maybe a wrong one, but what do you expect from a Old Gent? LOL
