hey guys so i bought a edelbrock manifold with 6 holley 94s for a sbc. i want to just run the middle two as primaries and then have the front two as secondaries, rears will never be on. so im confused what size jets should i use for them? thanks in advance guys, Tanner
sell the damn thing to me & go down & buy yourself a different manifold. Why have that setup & not use it ? Simple.
Info about your engine, and your altitude may help.....sounds like a weird plan though. I'd drive it with whatever jets are in it, and check the plugs and adjust from there. It'll be pretty difficult for someone to tell you the perfect jet size from cyberspace.
hell ya might as well get it converted to injectors hidden inside and make it work for ya....you wouldnt be the first to have a oldschool ride runnin injectors ..........
You are going to run into lean cylinders on the rear for sure. The only way to determine jets in this situation is by trial and error. Maybe run one front and one rear, but at best that is not going to make it much better. Like as not, you don't have dumper carbs front and rear anyway so just block them off and run it as a four barrel
Sucks when you ask a legitamate question on a board that can answer your question simply! U should have said that it was for your RAT ROD or some other way off topic conversation and this would be on page 27 by now. Nothing on here but people who look to belittle others for what they are trying to learn.....
What the hell is your problem? I was serious and so was some of the others, maybe one or two ribbedhim but for the most part was tryin to help.........
I don't have a problem at all. your post was legitamite but was about the same time I was answering. Its just that it seems that all this board is anymore is people busting chops anymore. Don't worry, I don't really care. Just happened to be the thread that I was reading, had to say that-one of MANY others of people being nothing but jerks. No- I'm not an FNG so find another excuse to bitch at me. To each there own.
i would say run them all.. you can make them all work well.. also i think if you do decide to run some dummy carbs your going to have to make sure the throttle shafts are screwed shut because engine vaacuum will pull them open causing some weird stuff to happen.
If you want the cool factor of running six carbs, you should have to pay the price and run them all. And it is going to be really hard to get all of the cylinders to run the same fuel mixture with carbs blocked off. And you do not want to run a couple of holes rich, a couple of holes lean, and four holes just right. That is not a recipe for a good running engine.
in addition to the above, which I agree with (--run them all---) IF you set it up with the center two as primaries, and the end four as dumpers, and use progressive linkage----simply back the secondary pull in stop out to where it takes a whole lot of throttle to engage. For street driving you'll never be on the secondaries anyway.
