Picked the grill shell up down the road from Flat-Top's place of employment. The elderly gentleman running the yard thought he knew what it is, and I think I know what it is. But Mr. Midnite has a diffiering idea. What is it?
I think it is Packard. Mr. Midnite thought big GM But, Ii do not believe it to be a 41, side grilles appear smaller than 41. I, also, do not believe it to be regular Packard due to the smoother transition from shell to grille opening. I believe it is from 1940 model and that it is Darrin-Packard. Possible?
This shape is the Packard trademark. Never seen it on anything else besides furniture or buildings. Dan

I am looking at where the top of the shell flows gradually into the grill area. as opposed to the sharp area on other padkerds just above the grill at the top of the shell.
I worked on a '39 once, and I think the Arrowhead like dip in the beltline was attached to the Hoodtop on that one, not the Grilleshell. So '40 sounds better to me too...
I intended it to be wall art in the garage, but a lurker offered me an insane amount for it a while ago. Still thinking about wall art. I am pretty sure it is 1940. Looking at the 120, 110, and clipper seiries, I find a flat area above the chrome grill on the shell. Look at the black car in the original post The shell I have has a gradual slope to the area for the chrome shell, leading me to believe it is from the Darrin-Packard sports style roadster. That is the light colored car in the original post. Anybody agree?
