Look up Tandy leather on the net. My dad gets all his leather working supplies from them.

I purchased a hide on Ebay. I think I paid about $100 for a 50 sq ft black cow shaped hide. I can't remember the sellers name.

I have a few favorites who have been extremely helpful in helping me find exactly what I'm looking for by sending some samples my way....

    Asher Leather Co- Dallas, TX
    Buckskin Leather Co- Calgary Alberta
    Denver Fabrics- Littleton, CO

Also, Tandy Leather is everywhere and all of their leather is guaranteed 100%

Just a side note on leather tools, they're usually a little cheaper but still good quality at your local farm supplies store.

I was just in the Fashion District in Los Angeles last weekend... they have some there, whole hides and also killer fabrics... didn't notice the price tho... there was some killer vintage repop tropical barkcloth upholstery fabric which was $17 a yard.
