At a local show I got a trophy for 2nd place in my cl*** and the car that beat me was in next to last place.
In a way it is kind a funny, It is a story that will stick and you will remember it for the rest of your life. I got one that I will remember for the rest of my life............. A few years ago I went to a car show at a local High School and there was only 2 cars in my cl*** and I got the Third Place Trophy. I laughed my *ss of when I got home.
****s that it happened to you, and more importantly your grandpa, but for some reason I find this story hilarious (in a sad sort of way).. Really who cheats at a local car show in canada. I think bubbles was involved We really need that prize money boys.. bubbles go collect the cards.
Friend won best of show with his 31 Ford. Had to badger him to go on stage to receive the award.. Upon leaving the stage he saw this little boy maybe 8 -9 ish clapping his hands as it looked like he liked the car and was very excited that it won. As my friend walked by the little boy he stopped leaned over and said something to the kid and gave him the award and left. I asked him who the kid was and he said he didn't know him but I noticed Rays eyes were full of tears.. He put his head down and I dropped the matter.. To this day I don't know whay that was about... Just a kinda neat story that I won't forget.. Pontiac Slim
after all this discussion, I'd like to meet Pontiac Slim's buddy.....he's what most of this (life) is all about. Seems like the best outlook to have is to try to make someone else's day better than it was before you saw them, talked to them helped them, thanked them...etc Aside from making sure that YOU are ready to go to heaven at any second, making the people around you feel good is one of the most important things you can do. dj
Show are for fun, watch people, look at cars and talk to lots of nice people. If someone likes your ride thats makes it more fun.
I have a sign in my truck for when I attend cruise-ins/shows. It says "DO NOT JUDGE". I'm totally disinterested in the judging process and silly trophies. That ain't why I do this stuff. Just my little rant.
well i think a trophy ever now an then shows off your hard work, what about the riddler car show, it the best of the best
Think of it this way he spent a day with HIS car with HIS Grandson and he's on this side of the dirt. Who needs a ****ing pc of plastic be thankful for what you got!
Why would you care about an award anyways! The payback is going to shows,have a great time,hanging with buddies,etc.Forget about this dumb*** and let the trophy ***s fight for undeserved awards. The kind of guys who worry about "I should have won"..."Why did he win?"..."Hope I win something"..are the guys who just don't get it! Being with your gramps is more than enough reward....And YES...That guy was an ***hole!
Man, some people just don't get it. It is easy to tell he doesn't give a **** about any trophy. He was pointing out that the bogus guy with the ballot was an ***hole. It's that simple. The guy screwing with the ballots was probably the same ***hole from Edmonton who sold me a part for my cab, and then ****ed me around for five months before he said he "doesn't need the h***le of completing the deal" and then went back on his word.
I have seen allot of guys here that take it real serious when it comes to trophy's.These guys park there car and set all the trophy's around there cars,like a shrine or something,and spend all day polishing..(car polishing gold chainers)It gets real political sometimes.
Go to another show with your gramps, if he had a good time that's what counts! If this ***hole shows up again sick the boys on him!
