I just received the interior wood kit for my '31 Ford Roadster. There are no pictures or instructions included. Had to order the screw installation kit from another vendor as none came with the wood. It should arrive Friday.

Here's my concern. There is no existing old wood in the body and I don't know where all the pieces go or attach. There are many aftermarket publications available, but rather than buy them all, which one(s) have the best info or pictures as to the location and installing of the wood?

I also need to know how the original seat springs were held in place? I don't see any clips or brackets listed to hold them in place in any aftermarket catalog.

If any of you have photos showing the wood installed please post them here or email to me.

    Thanks to all.

Had the same thing happen with my 28 roadster. Just think of it as a large puzzle. Sometimes something will fit, but not be right. I had to redo my seat back slats after the seat springs arrived. Every thing else worked out just fine. And since when do men read instructions?

That's the problem. I usually don't read the instructions until after I've messed something up. I'm hoping to do it a little better this time around.

I have figured out some of "what goes where". There is a relieved section on the piece of wood that would be the upper seat back. I 'think' that is where the sheet metal seat adjuster and sheet metal package tray attach. I've got them on order but they haven't arrived yet.

I have one existing metal section attached to the rear upper body that has me very confused. See the next reply below.

    Thanks for your help.

Those pictures are a great help. Thank you.

I have a concern about what is referred to as item #1501 in the above picture. At the present there is a one piece square metal tubing section (about 3/4" square) held in place with long phillips head flathead screws in that location. The wood kit has three individual sections. The side curved pieces and a longer slightly curved rear piece. From what I have found the metal square tubing section does not belong there and should be removed and replaced with the wood sections. Is this correct? Or does the wood install on top of the metal square tubing?

Not sure where item #1508 attaches at the bottom.

Piece #1509 is about 1 1/2" longer than needed. Easy fix there.

Top cross piece as part of items #1502 has a shallow relief cut in it that I think is where the sheet metal seat adjuster attaches. I may figure that out when the sheet metal seat adjuster and package tray arrive.

Still need to find out how the seat springs are held in place.

Thank you for your help and posting of that photo.

There should be a tab with a hole in it that sticks up near the door pillar that it attaches to.

Here's a few pics of my setup...
