Greenville SC, Bonneville UT, Joplin MO. WOW

961miles in to the trip, 1167miles to go. Today was so Damn hot!!! I am in Platte City Mo. I have made 15hours 6min at 3500+rpm 70+mph. I hope everyone that is headed to Bonneville is keeping cool. I have never been so HOT! Pics will follow.

 

Way to go man!!! Nice to see the pooch is there in spirit. I bet it's looking down with it's tail wagging like crazy! Keep us posted!

 

I have never been so hot in my life. I even lived in Las Vegas even. I am going sleep now, getting up before the sun, and driving before it gets so DAMN HOT!!!

 

Wow! you guys are fast, or I had to many beers at the Pizza Shoppe. Yes JJ Birfield Is riding with me. I will leave a little of her in a few places.

Have a safe trip and see yous in Joplin. For what it's worth, it's suppose to cool off to the 80's and 60's at night the weekend of the Drags. ( I hope I didn't just jinx it...)

I am in Macon Mo and yeah it is hotter than the shades of hell. Hope it is cooler tomorrow but it don't look like it is gonna be, so damn hot that I had to put the top up.

Gonna see the illusive Choprods tomorrow and then head out for parts west.

Well I made Cheyenne Wy. I was thinking about why it was so hot in the Fairlane yesterday. I mean 130+deg. I had pulled all of the heater controls out last year, and never put the cables back in. I drive the car year round and did not get cold at all last year. I did not get cold because the cowl vent was forcing air through the heater box, great in the winter, not so great in 114deg heat index heat. I put in a ball valve this morning. I am happy now.

Rolling in Nebraska I saw something that made me very happy!!!

Wendover tomorrow.

Good luck with your trip I am not to far from you in S.C. I have been by this place many times this is at the same exit where we go ride on the mountian called Brimstone (Yamaha Rhino & Polaris RZR) great place.

 

I took 100 pics today, most of them ****. It was one of the things I was doing to break up the drone of 4000rpms at 77mph. 12.7MPG so far.

In no real order here are some pics from the road.

I am off to Outback for Beer, if anyone is near by come find me I will buy you a drink, or six...

Looks like right around sunset. I guess the lack of gas stations coming across Wyoming didn't mess you up too bad. Did you have to break into the emergency gas?

I'm damn proud of you man!! I gotta friend and his dad from here in walterboro that left mon. Morning in a new dodge challenger. He wanted to drive his hot rod, but being his dad is elderly, he figured he'd better keep ol pop comfy. When you get to the salt, look for a red challenger with s.c. Tags. Well today was a success. I went to the salt, took a bunch of pictures, and I am now a crew member on a record holding team. The 260 car. Got a pit p***, and everything.

I put a Ford Explorer 8.8 disk brake rear in, 3.55 gears, Detroit true track, cut down running two Strange 31spline short side axles. Perfect for my 331 Small block, right with my 3000rpm stall converter, but just maybe a bit much for coast to coast driving. The engine is happy, it is GOOD
