Is this STRANGE?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DocWatson, Aug 13, 2010.

  1. G'day guys.
Just had an 'interesting' thing happen. A very good mate of mine, non hotrodder but 'understanding' and sympathetic to the ailment wanted to use my computer to check something on the web.
No worries, I fire it up and get it on the net for him. Up pops my home page the H.A.M.B. and I hand it over to him, he asks.........
"Why did you open that page?"
    I reply,
"It's my home page, it always opens to that".
He looks at me confused and answers,
"That's weird, why would you have something like that as your home page?"

Is this weird? Am I weird...........no, wait don't answer that one:p, what am I missing here?
So what would a normal home page be?

Who else has the H.A.M.B. as their home page?

    Doc.

Funny how most people think an interweb connection needs a home page.

I wouldn't say its weird, Doc. It just tells the world you're a gearhead thru & thru. This is a great place to visit. Now, if you had Spongebob Squarepants as your home page we might wonder about you. :D

Perfectly reasonable. I changed my home page to the background version of Google and put my own pick as the background. Much better than being ***aulted by the choicest bad news from around the globe with those default MSN or news sites that ISP proivders force on you as their suggested home page.

My home page is Google, but I never turn off the comp. The HAMB is always open and all I have to do is refresh.

  13. Nah, That's No#1 in the favorites list!!:D

Thanks guys, I was getting worried there. I wonder what non H.A.M.Bers or the civilians (Non hotrodders) would use as a home page??

    Doc.

First thing I do in the morming is turn on the HAMB on the TV to see what's new.... Then with a click of the ****on, I check out the local news to see what's happenin' in my neck of the woods and then back to the HAMB. :) All this while sippin' on a large mug of coffee and meds.. :D

It's been my home page for a while until recently. I upgraded something and it changed my home page. Now I have to figure out how I did it back then.:D

I know my 'civilian' friends use a search engine as a hompage, Like Google, Yahoo, Bing, or a news site like MSN, CNN, Fox News. Mostly where ever they get email and questions answered.

Some people don't know how to set it and have the Default Windows, or their Internet suppliers homepage.

Here at work I have the company webpage as the Home page, But I keep a second screen open to the HAMB for my down time between jobs.

Yep! Me too. I thought everyone had the H.A.M.B. as their homepage. As far as search engines go, the search feature is in the upper right hand corner of the page. I tried that Google thing to search one time, and all the best results were links back to this forum. Duh!

Nobody uses tabs? When I shut down, I usually have four tabs open, so when I start up in the morning, those same four pages open at once. Stat out right where I left off. (and yes, one of them is the hamb)
