Art & Inspiration painted valve covers

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Big Al, Aug 12, 2010.

  1. i like to collect different early stagger pattern chevy valve covers and always wanted some canadian pontiac sripted ones. i recently bought a pair of fellow hamber hemisteve and have just finished painting them. i used the same method as dirtbag13 did in a previous thread although i only used vht engine enamel in spray cans. hope you like them.

They look great Al. I just finished off some Y block Lincoln ones myself.
They would dress up a small block nicely.

How did you do the letters a different color? Taped them off? Base color and then wet-sanded the top color off? I tried searching for dirtbag13's thread you mentioned but couldn't find it.

Really impressive! 3 attempts on my Chrys Industrial covers and I've gotta do 'em again.
Also can't find that old thread, these things take forever to mask!
