What is the difference between the differentials in a Model A banjo as compared to the later 37-40 style rear? I'm looking to build a Winter's V8 QC and have a couple of A rearends and would like to get by as cheaply as possible without compromising strength. I read several of the other threads on beefing up the gears for a QC, but wasn't sure if it was possible to use the A model differential carrier.

    Thanks,

  2. There is no pinion support bearing in the model a rear.

Does this affect the carrier for the spider gears and axle side gears? This is the part that gets used in the QC. Are there any sites that show a break-down of the various styles of banjos produced by Ford?

A is three-pinion differential, V8 is four. Stuff does not interchange, anyway.
