This is my 1950 Ford Project Phantom Convertible, it was a 4 month build, Sits on a S-10 Ch***is with power steering and disc brakes, powered by a TPI Tuned Port injection small block from an Iroc Z-28 followed by a 700R4 ******. It is actually 50 pounds lighter than the donor Iroc was so its a screamer. It gets looks, thumbs up and comments every time I take it out. I'm considering selling it and moving onto the next project but I keep changing my mind. I'm not even sure where to start on the price if I did
I have the same set-up in my 50 Shoebox. I got rid of the MAF and put a MAP sensor on it. The only problem is when it gets real hot, it stumble a bit. I think the hot air off the radiator is affecting the fuel air ratio. I've been looking for a cold air intake set up. Looking at yours, I think I just found a solution.
mrkling, did you change to the speed density computer (I am sure you did, just asking). On my TPI swap I mad a cold air box and piped over to it. I am still MAF though.
You should chop it and fix the rear edge of the coupe and move it forwards so it get better lines and the car will look verry good after this things /Stefan
I use an Accel Gen 6 ECM. It has its own wiring which uses a MAP sensor. It also eliminates the cold start injector. I'm looking for an intake boot so I can fab up a cold air intake. I'm new to the fuel injection game, but its actually not that difficult.
I'm not much of a Chevy-in-a-Ford guy , but I like shoeboxes , and I like convertibles/roadsters , so I guess I'd rock it . At least your 'box is driving , lol !!
